Customer questions & answers

What is Miami To The Max?
Miami To The Max! is a fully guided walking and driving tour around Miami, Florida. The tour takes place every day at 10am. By bus and foot, travelers like you join an expert guide exploring the best places in Miami Beach, Wynwood, and Little Havana, along with a sit down lunch at a famous Cuban restaurant.

The phrase "to the max" is an American expression to define something done to the most extreme limit possible. It's a shortened way of saying “to the maximum.”

For us, it means to have fun, be safe and organized, and make the absolute most of the day. When you take the tour, you will see why so many people get excited and tell their friends about it on Facebook.

When TripAdvisor, Expedia, and Viator wanted to offer a Miami tour for sale on their website, they called Miami To The Max!

The tour is especially great for photographers.

Can you tell me about lunch?
Lunch is served at 12:30pm. We usually go to Versailles.* The restaurant is a famous place and does not accept reservations, but you willl be escorted to the private dining room like a VIP, where you can sit and relax because we've taken care of everything. The menu includes:

First Course: Plantain chips, with garlic dipping sauce.

Second Course: Fruit plate, served family-style. The plate has watermelon, pineapple, grapes, honeydew, crenshaw melon, & strawberry yogurt dipping sauce.

Third Course: Chicken empanada. Empanadas are lightly fried "Hot Pockets" stuffed with shredded chicken

Fourth Course: Cuban sandwich, made with roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, served on Cuban bread.

Note: the vegetarian menu includes rice & beans, grilled cheese sandwich, pastry, and ice cream. Gluten-free diners can substitute a tuna salad plate.

Fifth Course: Cheese and guava pastry, with a shot sweet Cuban coffee.

Beer, sangria, soda, and juice, are available for purchase. Ice water is free.

Then, we hop in the bus and drive to Domino Park in Little Havana.

Sixth Course: A scoop of ice cream at Azucar Ice Cream Shop. To try to flavors, say "half-and-half"

Before leaving, you have free time to visit the art gallery and souvenir shops.

* Versailles is often too crowded on Saturday and Sunday. In this case, we go to their sister restaurant, La Carreta.

How physically active is it?
The tour is moderately active, requiring a small amount of walking (about .75 miles or 1.2 kilometers). However, walking is not mandatory, You can stay in the bus and we will take you to good spots that require less walking, or no walking, if you wish. There are no stairs to climb, aside from the stairs to the bus.

How does the tour work?
You cruise around Miami in a brand new bus and hop off and explore (5) different places. Most of the day, you are free to roam on your own. However, at Ocean Drive, you must walk with the group. If you are not able to do the full walk, stay in the bus and we will take you to a place that requires less or no walking.

The driving tour is a mix of live and pre-recorded commentary and music, broadcast from a high-performance sound system in the bus. Headphones are available for passengers who are hard of hearing, or wish to hear the audio tour in another language. For a more personal experience, you may bring your own headphones. We are the only tour company in Florida to offer this type of exceptional technology; the GPS tour system also promotes safer driving.

What is the bus like?
Great question! Not all tour buses are the same. For example, the double-decker tourists buses do not have air conditioning. They don't provide any shelter from the sun and rain, or protection from tree branches, insects, and mosquitoes. Those old style London buses also produce more air pollution. -- For these reasons, Miami Tour Company has chosen to NOT use double-decker buses -- We use new state-of-the-art vehicles.

In 2016, Miami Tour Company invested over 1 million dollars and purchased 3 new Mini Coach buses for our customer's pleasure. Our new buses offer a luxurious and spacious interior. The construction provides a smooth and quiet ride, while its maneuverability helps us access remote places.

The coach seats 40-passengers.

Each vehicle is custom built to provide you with the most in comfort and technology. There is welcoming entrance, cobalt blue mood lighting, enclosed parcel racks, powerful air conditioning, 3 point seat belt for each person, personal cup holder, and the most advanced audio tour system in the world.

There is no restroom on the bus. The restroom was removed, so the air smells fresh.

Is there air conditioning?
All our vehicles HAVE air conditioning. The A/C systems are regularly maintained, so you stay cool -- even in the heat of the Miami sun. We also provide you with free bottled water for your comfort.

How will I recognize the bus?
Our buses are white, with an orange logo on the side that says "Miami Tour Company."
